GIUFFRIDA – Ann Y. Giuffrida, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017 with her loving niece by her side. Born November 15, 1921 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Angelina (Gozzo) Giuffrida.

Ann loved playing Bingo at St. Anthony's, was an avid Yankees fan and loved watching her show "The Young and the Restless." She also loved playing cards and if no one wanted to play; she would play Solitare. Ann idolized the children in her life and treated them like gold and they fondly knew her only as "Auntie Choo-Choo." She was someone who said it like it was and everyone knew where they stood with her.

She is survived by her close niece and caregiver, Elaine Williams and husband Kim of Winsted; nephews, Ronald Salafia and wife Catherine of FL, Francis Insolia and wife Deborah and Joseph Infantino and wife Cindy, all of Winsted; great niece, Lisa Perry and husband Paul of Winsted; great nephews, Erick Royer and wife Michelle of Torrington and Mark Salafia of FL; and great great nieces and nephews, Madison Perry, Daniel and Abigail Royer and Kaitlyn and Brendan Allen. She was predeceased by her sisters, Josephine, Frances, Mildred, Salvatrice "Tita," and brothers, Salvo and Carmen.

Friends may call on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 9:30 – 10:30 AM with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph's Church, Winsted at 11 AM. Burial will be held in the spring at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Anthony's School, 55 Oak Street, Winsted, CT 06098.
