A.K.A. “Grama”

COLEBROOK---Mrs. Virginia “Jinny” Case, A.K.A. “Grama”, 80, of 107 Sandy Brook Road, passed away Friday, Dec 15, 2006, at Laurel Hill Healthcare in Winsted. She was the loving wife of the late Edward Nathan Case for 52 years. Grama and Grampa are together for Christmas. Mrs. Case was born in Colebrook, January 7, 1926, to the late Felix Jasmin and Irene (Gray) Jasmin. She resided in Colebrook her entire life, where she helped run the family logging company and was an adoring wife and mother. She loved to chat with friends and family, cheer for her UConn Huskies, and to make stew for the Colebrook Town Crew during snow storms. She loved nature and enjoyed watching hummingbirds from the porch and tending to her flower gardens. Mrs. Case took great pride in being a grandmother. She leaves four daughters, Carole Jean Peugh of Missouri, Sally Lou Parris of Colebrook, Janet Calchera of Stafford Springs, and Betijane Kaschuluk of Vermont; five sons, Clifford LaMere of Florida, Edward “Mike” Case Jr. of Colebrook, Marc Jasmin Case of Torrington, Peter Paul Case of Thomaston, and Robert Case of Tolland; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and countless friends and “adopted grandchildren.” Mrs. Case was predeceased by brothers Felix, Irving, Edward, and Paul Jasmin, sisters Lea Mary Neal and Louise Kantor, and son James Felix Case. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home Winsted at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Ambrose officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Hill Cemetery, Colebrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colebrook Fire Department.
