Richard A. Ruf, 75, of New Hartford, CT, beloved husband of Ingrid M. Ruf, passed away peacefully on Friday night (December 2, 2011) at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stuttgart, Germany, son of the late Gottlob Ruf and Anna (Siegle) Ruf. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ingrid M. Ruf, his daughter, Constance Hotchkiss and her husband Michael Hotchkiss, his daughter Simone Ruf and his grandsons Alexander and Nicholas Hotchkiss. He is also leaves behind his sister Margarete Heyer and her husband Gerhard Heyer, a niece and nephew, Irene Heyer and Mannfred Niestle, and numerous cousins in Germany. He is predeceased by a brother, Heinz Ruf. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held on Saturday December 10th at 11 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 30 Prospect Street in New Hartford, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Center for Cancer Care, 200 Kennedy Drive, Torrington CT 06790 and the Nursing Program at Northwestern Connecticut Community College, Park Place East, Winsted CT 06098.
