ZOMPRO – Emma Rose Zompro, died on Sunday, May 6, 2012. She was born April 12, 1910 in Winsted, CT; a daughter of the late Dominic and Victoria (Quaertro) Zompro and step-mother, Clara Zompro. Emma lived here all her life until moving to Avon in 2008. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Mason Silk. She was a graduate of St. Anthony's School and a communicant of St. Joseph Church and The Church of Saint Ann and a member of The Blanche McCarthy Senior Center. She is survived by two nieces, Cynthia Trumbull of Avon and Katherine Yacovino of Canton; five nephews, William Connole of Torrington, David Connole of Bristol, Theodore Connole of Torrington, Paul Connole of OR and Thomas Connole of VA; several great nieces and a great nephew. She was predeceased by three sisters, Catherine Zompro, Mary Connole and Irene Borovy; and two brothers, Dominic Zompro and Louis Zompro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at St. Joseph Church, Winsted at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Winsted.
