DECKER – Walter "Walt" A. Decker, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2012 with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Victoria (Consolini) Decker for 50 years. Born June 12, 1941 in Winsted; the son of the late Percy and Pauline (Lalime) Decker. Walt was a lifelong resident of Winsted. He served in the Air Force during Vietnam . He was also an auto enthusiast and NASCAR fan. Walt was employed as a HVAC Tech. In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by his son, Matt; daughter, Jacki and significant other, Stan; two brothers, Fred and Granville; sister, Grace; granddaughters, Nicole and Jessica; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Russell and Martin and two sisters, Noella and Jean. We would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at the Center for Cancer Care of Torrington and Laurel Hill Heath Care In Winsted for the care given to Walter. Friends may call on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street , Winsted from 6 – 8 PM. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Forest View Cemetery , Winsted at 10 AM with full Military Honors. Visit an online guestbook at Montano-shea.com.
