REA – Thomas W. Rea, Jr., passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012. He was the loving husband of Maria (Paes) Rea for 37 years. Born in Hartford on September 23, 1950; the son of the late Thomas and Muriel (Gardiner) Rea. Tom retired in 2003 after 32 years of service from the MDC. He was also employed delivering newspapers for 20 years, custodial work for the Town of Winchester, volunteering for Aerial Ladder for 20 years and owning Tommy Rea's Café. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Veronica Vitola, Michael Adamo, Thomas Rea, Jennifer Lauria, Vanessa DiVita, Billy Rea and Ryan Rea; brothers, Timmy and Jeffrey Rea; sisters, Ellen Tarpinian and Nancy Demirgian; 16 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his dog, Sadie. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jane Wilde. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 5 – 8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at St. Joseph Church, Winsted at 11 AM. Memorial donations may be made to: Winsted Aerial Ladder or St. Anthony's School.
