PAVLAK – Raymond T. Pavlak, PhD, 80, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Judith D. Pavlak, his son, David and wife Maria of Winsted. Raymond was born in Torrington; son of the late Felix and Winifred Pavlak. Raymond was a long time resident of Winsted. He was very active in local affairs, writing many articles for local newspapers, serving two terms on the Winchester Board of Education and helping preserve medical services in Winsted. During his working career, he taught history at WAMOGO, Northwestern Community College and UCONN. He also worked for the State of CT as a Business Manager. He received his Doctorate from UCONN in 1977. His philosophy was "To leave the world better then he found it." Private burial services will be held by family at gravesite.
