DUFOUR - Charlotte S. Dufour, 96, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010. Born April 21, 1914 in Willimantic, CT; the daughter of the late John and Mabel (Lewis) Sheffield. She was a resident of New Hartford since 1924. Charlotte was the Town Clerk of New Hartford for 33 years as well as Clerk of the Court until the establishment of the current circuit court system. She was a dedicated member of St. John's Episcopal Church for 86 years and also very active with the Woman's Group at the church. She was a member and past matron of the Eastern Star. And, a member of the Republican Town Committee of New Hartford. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Dufour and his wife Jeannie of New Hartford and Alan Dufour and his wife Pat of Hommassa, Florida; a brother, Herb Sheffield of Texas; 8 grandchildren, Kenneth Dufour, Suzanne McCray, Deborah Dufour, Linda Nelson, Michele Benson, Edward Dufour, Jeff Dufour and Zachary Dufour; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Vincent Raymond Dufour; three grandchildren; William Dufour, Charlotte Louise Dufour and Robert Dufour; two brothers, John and Edward Sheffield and two sisters, Eleanor DuBois and Isabelle Covington. The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to the staff and residents at Valerie Manor for their support and concern. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at St. John's Episcopal Church, New Hartford at 11 AM. Burial will be private. Friends may call on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford from 5 - 8 PM.
