GALLO - Barbara Gallo passed away on November 23, 2010 at the age of 68 after suffering a stroke. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Erly Paul Gallo, a local physician, whom she met and married at their alma mater, St. Bonaventure University. Barb was a lifelong animal lover, who bred and showed Old English Sheepdogs to International Championships under the kennel name St. Trinian. She also bred and successfully showed Arabian horses with her family on a national level. Most recently in life, she was Vice President of The Equestrian Centre in Avon, and had established a well-known engraving business called B. Engraved. She was the loving and revered mother of four children, all of whom credit her with their life successes. They are Dawn Scarpelli and her husband Peter, Jennifer Gunter and her husband Michael, Erly Gallo Jr., and Erika Gallo and her companion Jean Roach. Barb is also survived by her sister Susan Golin and her husband Richard, their children Joseph and Julia, and numerous extended family members. She will be truly missed as well by her dear friend Robin Keable, her beloved dog Shorts, and many furry grandchildren. Barb took on every challenge with a smile, be it building a barn or creating a piece of art. She was best friend and mother to all. Services are private. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted has care of the arrangements. Visit an online guestbook at Montano-shea.com.
