Mrs. Martocchio and family - growing up in New Hartford one of my fondest memories was playing basketball with the NH Jaycess. JC basketball memories of Joe, quiet, unassuming but a real teacher and role model for many of us that he coached. Also some of us were lucky enough to be invited to play with the "big guys", Joe, Chuckie Calder, Reggie Smith, George Ducharme, to name a few and it was a real learning experience and great fun. I would look forward to those Thursday evenings always with great anticipation. You should all be very proud of him. Sorry for your loss. Fondly, Brace Carpenter

To all of Joe's family and friends:
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. I knew Joe from the deli counter at Marandino's for the past few years. He was such a nice man.
Another link that we have is that the Martocchio family name is from Popoli, Italy; the town where Bruno was born and brought up. We are all brothers and sisters spiritually, anyway. That link is the loving energy which connects people.

So many nights that I "lived" at your home and you were my "other Dad". I loved you dearly and was so happy recently to see your picture again when Joe and Ellen and Gloria and I all reconnected on FaceBook. Mom I cant even think how you are doing right now but I know you will, as always carry on with pride and grace. So many years, so many cherished memories. Ellen, Joe and Gloria what can I say. Your Dad was such a sweet man and showed how much he loved you in all he did. I used to love how he would give such great bear hugs. I remember how easy he was to talk to when I would come over and how he would sit in his chair reading his paper but still always listening and making funny comments when he thought we needed to "get a grip". My sincerest condolences and love to you all.

We are so sad to hear of Uncle Joes passing. We know he is in a better place and is at peace. I know it seams tough to deal with right now and the only thing I can say is that eventually it gets better. You will be left with just the pleasant memories. The things your dad did to make you into the adult you are today will carry you through a life time and you will always hear his advice wheather he is with you or not and that means he never truly will be gone. He will life forever in your hearts.
Love you guys,
Bob & Kathy
