I recently received this website address and am thankful to have an opportunity to express my condolences to the Case Family as well as recall very fond memories. "Ma Case", as we VT. girls called her, was a very special person in our lives for many years. I think I was only 11 or 12 when we first met at the Grand View Cottages on Lake Champlain. We had so many good times both in VT as well as visits to Sandy Brook Rd. in Colebrook. Ma Case had one of the biggest hearts I've ever known and we were all so welcomed into her family. I have many cherished recipes from her from over the years as well as a copy of the Colebrook Cookbook which I use quite often. I am sure there is a big empty space in everyone's lives but the legacy and memories that she left behind are huge. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Jinny, or "Ma" as we called her, was one of the most amazing women I have ever known. She was not a tall woman, but what she lacked in height on the outside, she more than made up for in spirit and strentgh of character on the inside. Her generosity and love for people, especially her family, knew no bounds, and some of my best memories as a teenager are those spent with her both in South Hero and at her home in Colebrook. I learned many things from Ma, not this least of which, is the true meaning of unconditional love. I am truly blessed for having known her, Pa, Unc, and her sons, Mike, Peter and Marc. Thank you, Ma, for your warmth and understanding and for allowing the farm girls to be a part of your life. You and Pa will forever be in my heart and happiest memories.
Love,
Liz

Mrs.Case,
Although I have never met you I have often though how nice you must have been, I am so sorry we never met, but I did not know where you were. I have been in the Air Force for some time now and I wrote to your daughter the day they layed you to rest. I spoke with Sally and Nicole yesterday,They are so nice, They all really miss you,They all do. I miss you too. I have been working with parachutes, aircraft and pilots for what seems for ever now,I really loved my job and just retired after 20 years. I want you to have this poem from me because it is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read. It is called \\\"high flight\\\".
I love you Grama, Dan
\\\"High Flight\\\"
Oh! I have slipped the surley bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silver wings. Sunward I\\\'ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds-and done a hundred things. You have not dreamed of-wheeled and soared and swung. High in the sunlit silence. Hov\\\'ring there. I\\\'ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung my craft through footless halls of air.Up,up the long, delirious burning blue,i\\\'ve topped the wind swept heights with easy grace, Where never lark or eagle flew. And,while silent, lifting mind I trod, the high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of god.

My best memories of Gram: As a child it was all about handknit slippers and Simon which were found in the hutch-Playing with her felt boards & colorforms-Soap operas (her stories) by day and ET by night-Walks to the garden-Gathering eggs from the chicken coops-Decorating Santa Claus Cookies-Incredible Holiday dinners-A kiss goodbye, a treat, & a wave from the window-Drives with Gram & Gramps, Gram drove & Gramp told her how to!-Sitting at her window, watching red birds in the pinetree-Relaxing times on the porch-Going to get her mail for her-Best of all, sleepovers at Gram & Gramps when Gram would tuck me in with Monk Monk & sing me many songs! Later it was too much Chinese food-Long talks, with lots of yelling (she couldnt hear), the conversations were no longer sugar coated & her vocabulary was more colorful!-I was blessed to be her grandchild from birth, her little bitzy baby!
Gram, You are so lucky to be with Gramps. Its not goodbye, Its see you later! Ill always be your little Bitz! I will miss you and I love you very much!

We are Doug LaFleur's parents and got to know Jinny when our son lived across the street from her. We have very fond memories of a caring and sweet person who could never do enough for others. She and Ed were very good to our son.

Dear Sally, Fred and family,Im so sorry for Grandma Case's passing. I remember her fondly, especially her laugh, her stories, and the cake she made when Sallay and Fred had me over for dinner when I was still working in camp.
She was so warm and kind to me even though she hardly knew me. So easy to laugh and converse with...
She will be missed by us all.
My thoughts, love and prayers are with you and Fred.

I'm going to miss the dinners I used to share with grandma Case and all the stories she shared. The grandma rolls ate dinner and the desserts she used to make. Grandma Case made me part of her family, while I worked at Camp Jewell and made my time in Colebrook better. I'm sorry i didn't get to share one more dinner with her, but in my heart she will always be having dinner with me.

I know Tim thought alot about his Auntie Jinny and I had the pleasure of meeting her when I married Tim. She was always happy and such a joy to be around. I know Tim had such fond memories and I am sorry I have such few. She will be missed so much but you have memories that no one can take away and we all will be together some day. God Bless

We meet a lot of people during our walk through this world, and it soon becomes apparent when we chance across someone who is special. Jinny stopped me in my tracks the first time I met her. She wore a glowing smile, and I could feel her love shower down around me. She was as tough as the day was long, but yet gentle and caring. She lived steadfast to her values, but would always give you a willing ear. She was one of the old guard- she stood for something- was true and of quality. She knew how to live the right way. I've always been proud to know her. And what a legacy she leaves behind: she raised a family that is one-in-a-million. It's a testament to her that whenever I think of her, it isn't of her alone- I'm also thinking of Ed, Uncle, and her kids. She walked this earth and left a mighty footprint- her family, and a story that teaches us how to live life as it should be lived.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jinny and the Case family for 9 years thru my husband Andre. He's been coming to Colebrook for some 20 or so years to see Mike & Bob & friends, and he called Jinny-Ma (she'd tell him he'd better,ha,ha) I really grew to love her also. She was always smiling, witty, and full of spunk. She will be deeply missed by all, but as Mike put it, "she's with dad now" God bless
